Data of Foreign Students Study in China in 2015 have been Released by China MOE these days. According to statistics, total of 397,635 foreign students which come from 202 countries and areas have been studying in 811 high institutions, academies and other teaching institutions. Among them the number of students come from Asia, Europe, Africa, America, Oceania are 240,154、66,746、49,792、34,934、6,009. Beijing, Shanghai and Zhejiang are the Top destinations for foreign students.
In 2015, the scale of foreign students study in China has been a steady raise and the Students structure optimized constantly. All types of students has raised 20,581 by compared to the year 2014 which is 377,054 and the growth rate is 5.46%. The high institutions, academies and other teaching institutions have grown 36 compared the year 2014 of 775.
There are 184,799 degree students in 2015 and is 20,405 more than the year 2014 with the number 164,394. The growth rate is 12.41%. It has continued to maintain a growth trend of higher than total number of students study in China since 2008.
The number of degree students in 2015 has accounted for 46.47% of the total number of international students that year; Among them the number of postgraduate students has accounted for 13.47% of the total number of international students that year. Both of the proportions are increased in some extent and the degree structure are in Continuously optimization.
Nationalities of International students are stable, the One Belt And One Road countries has become a shot of resource countries of study in China. The number of nationality and Area of international students in 2015 are almost same as in 2014. Top 10 recourse countries with the largest number of international students are :South Korea, the United States, Thailand, India, Russia, Pakistan, Japan, kazakhstan, Indonesia and France. Among these countries, students in South Korea, India, Pakistan, kazakhstan are increase. Especially, India, Pakistan, kazakhstan have increased more than 10%. Students come from Asia and Africa have increased by 6.5% and 19.47% compare to last year.
In 2015, Our government have scaled up the Chinese government scholarship to promote study in China program. According to the statistics, there are 40,600 international students from 182 countries study in China with the Chinese government scholarship which have account for 10.21% of the total number; 3,657 more than the 2014 with 36,943; The growth is 9.9%.
